Wendy Brown is a senior Upper GI surgeon as well as an associate professor of surgery at Monash University. Prof Brown specialises in both upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery as well as surgical oncology. She graduated top of her class at Monash Univerity in 1992 and since has become the first female appointed chair of the the Monash University Department of Surgery in 2015, the Director of the Centre for Obesity Research and Education (CORE) as well as being the Clinical Lead for both the National Bariatric Surgery Registry and the Victorian Upper GI Cancer Registry. Wendy is a renowned surgeon and has performed well over 800 Lap-Band procedures alone, while also having significant expertise in complex Upper Gastro-intestinal procedures. Wendy works and operates at the Alfred Hospital where she has worked in the Upper GI Surgical Unit for the past 8 years.
