Clare is a passionate Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD). She loves empowering people with good nutrition information so they can make the best decisions for their long-term health. She is able to help you with a broad range of nutrition concerns from managing diabetes or cardiovascular disease to gastrointestinal complaints and discomfort. She loves food and the role that it plays in our lives, both as a provider of nutrients and as an expression of our social and cultural environments. It was this interest that ultimately drew her to the study of food and it’s impact on our bodies. While studying she also discovered a passion for understanding the role of nutrition in the prevention and management of disease.
Dr Andrew Kiyingi is Specialist Weight-loss and General Surgeon with advanced training in minimally invasive surgery. He is also a Surgical Trainer for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Dr Andrew Kiyingi was schooled in Sydney, graduated from the University of Otago (NZ) and was awarded the University Gold Medal in General Practice and Distinction in Surgery. He completed surgical training at St Vincents Hospital Melbourne and was awarded Fellowship (FRACS) under the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2014.
Dr Meaghan Heckenberg has been performing liposuction procedures for The Alia Clinic Sydney and Crows Nest Cosmetic and Vein Clinic since 2008. Her speciality is tumescent liposculpture performed under local anaesthetic and she has performed many hundreds of procedures.
“Be Sculptured” was born from her desire to concentrate on one cosmetic procedure, that being liposculpture. Meaghan has a fellowship from The Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and is a full member of The Cosmetic Physician’s Society of Australasia.
Dr Gary Avery has extensive plastic surgery experience in both Australia and New Zealand. His professional memberships include being a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS), the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS).
Dr Avery graduated from the University of Sydney in Medicine in 2001 and also holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy. He completed his 10 years of specialist plastic surgical training in 2011 and has undertaken fellowships in Hand and Peripheral Nerve Surgery, Head and Neck Cancer Surgery and Paediatric Plastic Surgery including Cleft Lip and Palate.
Dr David Joseph has provided a comprehensive service for Bariatric patients for the last 10 years, and performs Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy (Gastric Sleeve), Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass (Roux-en-Y and Single Loop) surgery, and complex Revision Bariatric Surgery for the management of obesity problems. He is a highly trained Laparoscopic and Hepatobiliary Surgeon specialising in benign and malignant conditions of the Upper Gastrointestinal Tract, including the Liver, Stomach, and Pancreas.
Mr Ramez Bassari is a specialist General Surgeon with sub-specialist training and qualifications in Bariatric (weight loss) and Upper Gastrointestinal surgery. He is also GESA-accredited to perform gastroscopy and colonoscopy. He completed medical school in 2004 and became a specialist surgeon in 2012. Following this he spent a further 4 years of sub-specialist surgical training in Australia and New Zealand.
He has private consulting suites at Epworth Richmond, Melbourne NorthWest Surgical, Seymour District Memorial Hospital and Sunbury Specialist Centre. He holds public appointments at Western Health (Footscray, Sunshine and Williamstown hospitals), and Seymour District Memorial hospital.
Dr Michael McCleave is currently a Senior Consultant at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre and Repatriation General Hospital. He is a Clinical Senior Lecturer within the School of Medicine at the University of Adelaide. He is actively involved in the teaching of surgical registrars and has an ongoing research interest. He is currently the President of the South Australian Hand Surgery Society.
He has an interest in all plastic and reconstructive surgery with a particular interest in skin cancers, hand surgery, cosmetic surgery, paediatric plastic surgery, microsurgery, nerve surgery, abdominal wall surgery and post-weight loss surgery. His personal approach is to give patients honest and clear advice on the treatment options so they can make an informed decision about the option best suited to them. Cosmetic procedures use the latest short scar minimally invasive techniques and he only uses FDA approved implants.
Dr Tim Proudman completed his medical degree in 1986 at the University of Adelaide. He trained in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Adelaide and Brisbane and in 1996 became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. In 1996 he undertook fellowship in the UK at St James’ Hospital in Leeds. In 1998 he was awarded Master of Surgery by the University of Adelaide. He is currently Head of Unit of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
